We are continually monitoring the developing COVID-19 outbreak and have already begun implementing our pandemic contingency plans to safeguard the health of our employees, clients and everyone involved in our business and personal spheres. Our encrypted cloud-based systems allow all our staff to work remotely from and be readily accessible anywhere in the world meaning that we will continue to be able to advise you during these uncertain and difficult times.
Measures we have taken thus far: •We have postponed all in person conferences and events, and have implemented the procedures and support for meetings and depositions to be conducted virtually; •We have enacted remote work procedures for all but a few support staff members, and have provided them with the resources needed to ensure they are able to continue working effectively; • •We are working with clients and business partners across our transatlantic network to help them minimise the impact of COVID-19; and •We are monitoring and following all recommendations from the World Health Organization and the NHS and are informing our clients on the latest legal and commercial developments as they come through.
The Civil Courts are taking preventative measures in light of the current crisis but are still functioning at full capacity. The implementation of an online “efiling” system in the past five years has ensured that even if there are restrictions to travel, cases can be commenced and pursued as normal. In respect of hearings, these are at present unaffected. Arbitrations continue to be capable of commencement and filing of process remotely.
