Julian is a practising solicitor, and notary pubic. His Alternative Dispute Resolution practice includes mediation; arbitration, expert determination and early neutral evaluation. Julian is a CEDR accredited commercial mediator and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

His areas of practice are intellectual property rights (IPR); consequential loss; and general commercial law. His practice is diverse ranging from media and the creative industries to start up tech companies including renewable energy, the auto/mobility industries and software development. Julian has a particular interest in the regulatory development of AI; blockchain and connectivity.

His lecturing roles on IPR are diverse including post graduate students at the University of Reading; London Screenwriters’ Festival; Cologne Film School and Automotive EV for whom he is their legal commentator (Julian first wrote about the legal implications of self driving cars over 15 years ago). Julian is a UK editorial panel member for the EU Audio Visual Observatory.Julian has advised on ground breaking renewable energy infrastructure projects.
