We advised a global multi-national chemical company on a USD40m claim arising from a large plant in Memphis.

Their losses were suffered as a result of the erroneous offloading of a tanker of phosphoric acid into a sulphuric acid storage tank, resulting in accidental processing of the phosphoric acid through the plant and the accelerated corrosion damage to various areas of the plant.

The local policy was subject to the laws of Tennessee and the Master Policy was governed by English law. We carried out a comparative analysis of the coverage in the two jurisdictions and advised on the best route to achieve a full policy response.

The case was ultimately successfully mediated, demonstrating our seamless transatlantic capability.

Global reach, partner led, focused outcomes.
